Alicante Province
The Alicante province is one of three provinces which form the Comunidad Valenciana, or Valencia Region: Alicante province, Valencia Province and Castellón province.
The Alicante province is home to almost two million people and is divided into 141 municipalities grouped into nine “comarcas”, or administrative areas.
The nine comarcas are:
La Hoya de Alcoy
The Valle de Alcoy
El Condado de Cocentaina
La Marina Alta
La Marina Baja
El Alto Vinalopó
El Medio Vinalopó
El Bajo Vinalopó
El Campo de Alicante
La Vega Baja del Segura
Benidorm
Benidorm is undoubtedly the best known of the resorts along the Alicante coastline, although Torrevieja and Orihuela Costa are also very popular with foreign buyers and have some of the highest percentages of foreign residents in Spain.
As a result there are a huge range of social activities on offer and a great deal of support for those who choose this area in which to live, as well as a vast choice of different types of accommodation.
